OPEN HANDS RESOURCE CENTER
River of Grace's homeless ministry has rented space at 208 North Main Street to provide a resource center for people in need. The Vision of Open Hands Resource Center (OHRC) is "to share with those in need every resource at our disposal."
The Mission of OHRC is to build relationships with those in need by providing for them a welcoming place to come Monday through Friday that is staffed with caring people who are devoted to loving the individual, meeting specific needs and sharing the Gospel of Jesus.
John Moretto, a retired Concord firefighter and RoG church elder, is helping lead the project. "The idea is to be able to treat them like people, become interested in who they are, their lives," Moretto said. "When you make that personal connection with somebody, it opens up the possibility of helping them with other things in their lives... all of that makes it easier to help them find the resources that they need."
